Raymie Iadevaia is an artist who currently lives and works in Oakland, CA. He received his BFA from California College of the Arts in 2007 and will begin the MFA program at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena this spring.
Utilizing motifs of “beauty” and ornamental subjects such as flowers and picturesque landscapes, Iadevaia constructs images that invert their representation as well as reinforce it. From the King’s Kitchen is a new installation of work at 4707 Telegraph that aims to conflate and compress ideas of the decorative with those of the language of commodity culture and its aesthetic.
Raymie Iadevaia has exhibited in Oakland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York and in 2006, was a selected artist in his first international exhibition in Sierre, Switzerland, after a three-week residency.
